The government of Pakistan has taken a major step to boost tourism and draw in foreign investment by allowing visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations to enter the country without a visa.
Pakistan will no longer require a visa for entry for nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). They are able to enter the nation for up to 90 days without a visa.
To guarantee the seamless execution of the program, the directive has been sent to immigration officials at every airport in the nation.
Additionally, passengers from 120 other countries have been instructed to be granted entry under a visa grant notification.
Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif announced on July 8 that the government has implemented major changes to visa policies in order to make travel, commerce, and investment from overseas easier.
He said that the action will support the nation’s efforts to promote tourism, attract international investment, and expand trade.
He added that 126 countries’ businesspeople, investors, and travelers would receive their visas using an internet system in less than a day. He also announced that visitors and traders from these nations would not need to pay for a visa.
Pakistan would become a more desirable travel and business destination for foreigners as a result of the changes to the visa regime.
