The airline from Doha confidently holds the first place in the Skytrax Awards
Qatar Airways has won the title of the World’s Best Airline for 2024. This is the eighth time they’ve won this award in the Skytrax World Airline Awards, which is like the Oscars for airlines. The event in London had over 325 people from different airlines. Pretty cool, huh?
Rankings:
1. Qatar Airways: This 5-star airline is back at number one and won three more awards: Best Business Class, Best Business Class Lounge, and Best Airline in the Middle East.
2. Singapore Airlines: The winner from last year is now in second place.
3. Emirates: They are in third place.
4. ANA All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Japan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, EVA Air, Air France, and Swiss International Air Lines are among the top 10 airlines.
A Trailblazing Achievement:
Qatar Airways achieved a historic feat by winning Best Airline, Best Airport, and Best Airport Shopping—all in the same year, a first in Skytrax history. Additionally, it was crowned the best airline globally in the AirlineRatings.com awards in May.

The boss of Qatar Airways, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, is really happy with the team’s hard work. He mentioned, “This prize proves how much we care about giving great service and being creative.” The airline wants to keep being really good at what they do.
The Methodology:
Skytrax Awards are decided by votes from travelers from over 100 countries. The online survey for customers took place from September 2023 to May 2024. They carefully check all entries to make sure they are valid, removing any duplicates or submissions that don’t meet the requirements.
Other Important Rankings:
• Australian airline Qantas moved down to the 24th spot.
• Virgin Australia went from 46th to 54th, and Jetstar went down to 75th.
• The smaller Australian airline REX improved from 56th to 50th.
• Fiji Airways kept its position as the top airline in the Australia and Pacific area, now ranking 14th worldwide.
• Air New Zealand came in second, with Qantas in third place.
• Fiji Airways won the Best Airline Staff award for the fourth year in a row.
Fijian Spirit Rises High:
Andre Viljoen, the boss of Fiji Airways, talked about how important it is for them to give really good service to their customers. He said, “We work for Fiji,” showing how friendly and helpful they are to passengers from the time they book their flight until they get on the plane.
Recognition and Quality:
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted commended Qatar Airways for its top-notch products and services. Customers regularly recognize this outstanding quality by giving it important awards.
Low-Cost Excellence:
In the World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airlines category, Jetstar secured second place, while Scoot claimed the top spot. Norse Atlantic Airways, Air Canada rouge, and ZIPAIR followed suit.
